Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 7, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the ContextLift WordPress Plugin ("Software") or accessing the ContextLift website ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service or use the premium features of the Software.
2. License and Usage
2.1. The Free Core Plugin
The core ContextLift WordPress plugin is open-source software licensed under the GNU General Public License v2.0 (or later). You are free to use, modify, and distribute the core plugin in accordance with the terms of the GPLv2.
2.2. The Premium AI Plan
Access to the AI-powered features (via the ContextLift API) requires the purchase of a premium AI Plan license. This license grants you access to our proprietary API proxy, which interfaces with third-party Large Language Models (e.g., Anthropic's Claude).
- Lifetime Definition: A "Lifetime" license grants you access to the AI proxy service for the lifetime of the ContextLift product. Should the product be discontinued, acquired, or undergo a fundamental architectural shift, reasonable notice will be provided.
- Fair Use Policy: The AI Plan is subject to reasonable fair use limits to prevent abuse and protect our server infrastructure. We reserve the right to throttle or temporarily suspend API keys that generate excessive or abusive traffic patterns (e.g., attempting to scrape or DDoS the API).
- License Transfer: License keys are non-transferable and may only be used on websites owned or directly managed by the original purchaser.
3. AI Content Disclaimer
ContextLift utilizes advanced Generative AI models to suggest keywords, internal links, and content gaps. While these models are highly sophisticated, AI can occasionally produce unexpected, inaccurate, or grammatically flawed suggestions ("hallucinations").
You acknowledge that:
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and approving all AI-generated suggestions before applying them to your live website.
- ContextLift does not guarantee improvements in search engine rankings, traffic, or revenue as a result of using the AI features.
- We are not liable for any negative SEO impact, algorithmic penalties, or user experience degradation resulting from automated link insertions.
4. Payment, Refunds, and Delivery
All payments are securely processed by our designated Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy. Upon successful payment, your license key will be delivered electronically to the email address provided during checkout.
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you are unsatisfied with the AI Plan features, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase by contacting our support team with your order receipt. Upon refund, your license key will be immediately deactivated.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall ContextLift, its developers, or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service.
- Any content or code modifications made to your WordPress database by the plugin.
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
While the plugin includes rollback features and transaction logs, we strongly advise maintaining regular backups of your WordPress database.
6. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your license and access to the API proxy immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever and without limitation, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms (e.g., license sharing, automated API abuse, or chargebacks).
7. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with standard international software distribution practices, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
